Division one men:     St. Mary’s V St. Paul’s

This was a cracker of a game and one of the best of the senior finals. St. Paul’s registered the first score of the game but Niall Murphy responded with two for the home side and this was quickly followed with a three from Paudie Fleming. Niall Murphy made another before Kevin O’Regan made one to narrow the gap for Paul’s.

Brian Clarke made a three for St. Paul’s to level mid way in the game. The sides traded baskets, St. Paul’s led by one when Paudie Fleming made another three and Declan Culhane made a free throw to give St. Mary’s a three point lead at half time.

The sides continued to trade baskets and St. Mary’s maintained their lead up to the last three and a half minutes when Jarlaith Lee made two consecutive two’s for Paul’s.

Maurice Casey was playing well in defence for St. Mary’s who came back level following another three and a free throw from Fleming. Tom Fleming made three for the home side giving them a three point lead and with just 49 seconds Fleming made two more.  Shane Horgan got a free throw for St. Paul’s but time had run out and St. Mary’s won by five.
