Senior ladies go down to Meteors:

It was probably a big ask to expect a county league side step up to make it three in a row on this glorious day for St. Mary’s but while they did go down to a fancied Meteors it was only by 10 points. 

The game was low scoring and for St. Mary’s the damage was done in the first half. They trailed by five at the end of the first quarter and by 13 at half time. The third quarter saw them to bring it back to eight and at one point this was reduced to six but they chased those early lost points for the remainder of the game. Scanlon sister Noelle and Mary –Ellen along with Eileen O’Connor and Tracey O’Sullivan all gave a great performance up front while Mags O’Donoghue and Reidin O’Loughlin defended the boards well. Several of the U18 side who had played earlier that day were part of the squad but despite having plenty opportunity to score in the final quarter they just couldn’t hit the target.
